Let's be honest. The equal prize money has absolutely no sense, as men not only much better at tennis, but even better commercial-wise.

Also you don't need to be Einstein to catch another trend: Big tennis counties like USA, Sweden, Germany, Spain are in deep crisis when it comes to tennis talent. And most of good young players now are from Eastern Europe or from third world countries (or has descent from it).

So we are slowly heading to a conclusion. More and more boys see tennis as sport for girls. Because they know that girls, even if they are 1000x worse in tennis, can earn as much as them. So many guys are even ashamed to be a tennis player because of this.

The equal prize money talk started happening when wta was a much better brand than atp. When we had serena, venus, sharapova, henin, clijsters, davenport, mauresmo and many more as the stars of wta.

This thread is dumb. atp players has nothing to do with wta. Please close this thread. Also the equal prize money is only in 7 events, the rest the men still has a higher prize money.

Well, WTA "got paid" surely not for their tennis skills.
Imagine if they were equipped like athletes in fencing.

My point is that Equal Money at Slams turns tennis to a girly sport...Which actually would have never happened if not for democratic outfits in tennis.
It's a "Beach volleyball" type of popularity. For example no one cares about women in snooker or another cue sports because of strict uniform

Are you a 90 year old pervert? Cause you sound very sexist. There are many types of tennis styles and using the term girly is just unacceptable. Take out federer, nadal, djokovic and serena. Atp and wta would be in the same boat.

As if serena the biggest audience drawer in tennis is a typical covergirl type. Not many tennis players look like a covergirl type. If thats your argument then why is someone like svitolina not getting crowds in.

The equal pay is joke esp when it comes to the GS where the men plays best of 5.

The ATP players counsil should demand that GS matches should be best of 3 like it's the of the year and it's not fair for the men that they have to put in more work then the women for the same payday

The decline of Tennis in US is basically due to poor adaptability of College players to the demands of ATP.
Boom Boom Tennis has its limitations . US needs to have more clay courts to train the youngsters on technique .
Great Serve ALONE is not enough .

Women's Tennis CAN NOT stand on its own. The Political correctness in giving Show courts to women matches and time slot are stupid. If people believe there is a sizable audience for women Tennis, I dare them to conduct all WTA tournaments Stand alone and may be even the majors. We will know the truth.

Being honest is now "being a 90 years old pervert".
So why women are not paid equally in football, basketball, hockey, boxing and so on? But for example getting equal prize money in figure skating, Einsteins?

Back then, the women never thought they should earn more money compared with the men

The equal money issue has patriarchy written all over it.

As a man living in one of the most sophisticated countries in the world, I know female workers who earn less than men in the same industry although they work more.

In tennis, women and men play the most important tournaments at the same time. How beautiful is that? Take football for example, the women's world cup is organised in uneven years otherwise no one would care. Tennis doesn't have that problem. The BO5 argument is invalid imo, because BO3 is mentally more challenging and lots of male players simply accept to lose a set with ease (sometimes in the form of tanking) and move on to the next. BO5 physically more challenging? Or a format with more options?

Money should be distributed in better way so that even people in range 200-100 can earn enough to travel around on lower tournaments.

Right now pool of talents is very limited indeed and we have what we have. No one should be blamed expect basic human greed...

Again?

Women are physically weaker than men because they have to go through different biological functions in-order to deliver humans into life!

Tennis is not a girl-sport only, it is a sport that needs huge professional financial and medical support. There are many other sports that are not as demanding as tennis currently. Up to the 90s, tennis was a sport of rich white familes from mainly western countries, they did not usually face players from different backgrounds and the game was EASIER. Starting from the early 2000s, a player has to be very talented and very athletic to even reach the top 100 in the ranking! The game has become much more diverse and much harder. Once you reach the top, you will play against players who might challenge your game by playing a totally different style, a style that you may have never faced during all your training!

Imagine a boy watching ladies F at Wimby and being told that they earn more than Nadal and RBA :haha: :haha:

He will be embarrassed of only a thought to be a tennis pro in pathetic feminist sport like tennis.

I still don't understand why people care how much money a sportsperson earns. Like imagine being so sad to care about what people that you are never going to meet in your life earn. So pathetic lol!

Djokovic and Fed getting the same prize money as Halep and Williams :haha: :haha: :haha:

I feel embarassed for the AELTC and the UK.

Once a great tennis association and a great nation, now falling for this gender-equalizing stuff.

The crisis cannot be more deeper, it seems...

so when the men slam finals are duds like we've had recently, you don't say anything, but now that it's the reverse, you beat your chest.

Ok mate
