Indian Wells R2: [22] Monaco def. Mahut 6-4 5-7 6-3

Mahut was in trouble on serve throughout the entire match and this result seemed inevitable looking at the scoreboard. Mahut saved 7 BP's in the first set before being broken at 4 all. Monaco had *0-30 at 5 all to serve for the match in the second set and didn't take it, and Mahut broke to win the second set. Mahut then saved 2 break points to start the third set, but eventually was broken twice to fall behind 2-*5. He got one of the breaks back for *3-5 but Pico broke to win the match. A tough but good win for Pico, Marathon Man obviously fought hard as always but it wasn't enough enough.
