How basically do you think his career would have gone?

Think that beating a lesser opponent would have made him strive for higher honours and get that elusive slam vs a tougher opponent like a top four of Fed, Novak, Nadal or even Murray?

Was it a hinderance playing 2 great players to win your sole slam so far? Think you would do better having "easier" opposition?

It's interesting. A set and a break down during the US Open final Del Potro raised his game BIG TIME. Thing is I think the fact he raised it was due to the fact that he was playing Federer and he knew he had to if he were to win. I mean this is the guy who destroyed him at the Australian Open the same year and then edged him at Roland Garros. Not saying he wouldn't have raised his game against a player like Gonzalez but I do think against a player like him he wouldn't have reached the heights his game took him that Monday night in terms of how well he was playing.

gonzo would be murder and sabotage by delpo if delpo was at his best, delpo was a very dangerous player, gonzo is great at his best dont get me wrong but when these two play against each other delpo will win that in a quicky
No way. If 2 players are on fire, the more offensive one wins
