If the ATP were to introduce a 750 tier, which tournaments would you include in it?

Dubai would probably be the obvious candidate... Which other tournaments would you pick?

No Dubai, I hate those arabian tournaments. It's like the Manchester City's of tennis! Players only go there for money, the level of the matches are usually terrible and there always some very clownish local WC's given.

Queens
Bastad
Stockholm
Acapulco

1 in each surface.

Dubai is not obvious at all. Yes, there is usually a lot of top-tenners there but the cut-off is very low (players ranked 11-30 are rare guests there) and Q draw is ridiculously small and weak. This year's LDA into MD was #92 Russell, into QD—#259 Angelinos.
Compare it to Rotterdam—MD cut-off was #52 ERV. But even in Rotterdam Q draw was still a joke.

oh, just shush silly :stupid::stupid:. MC is one of the oldest tournaments in the world. It is so well organized, you have no clue what you are talking about. No wonder that top guys are still playing there although it's not a mandatory master event.

Madrid should be demoted to nothing. Barcelona is so much more fun. Bring Hamburg back.

For people mentioning Queens ... there is no freaking way they can accommodate a masters event, no matter how noble and cool that might sound.

Only Dubai and Barcelona but it doesn't work well as a concept for today's tour. You really don't need such a fine distinction between the Masters and any events below it. An event is either worthy of Masters designation or it isn't and those that don't quite make it work fine as 500's.

OTOH, a couple of the 500's should either be put elsewhere in the calendar and/or have their surface changed or otherwise be demoted to 250 status. That would give the truly worthy 500's the distinction they deserve.
