Novak has lost his past five slam finals, since A0 2013 he is 1 - 5 in Grand Slam finals. If he loses Wimbledon this year which he most likely will..if he faces Murray in the SF I believe the crowd will be very hostile and Murray will come out swinging (Novak has not won a set against Murray on Grass in their two encounters).

Therefore, Novak will be known as the nearly man..the player who just could not go past that final hurdle..How will this affect him mentally against the top ten..Novak keeps on saying that the Becker effect takes time..what does he mean exactly?..Does he not know that the younger guys are now challenging for the throne?

He's going through hardest time of his career may be he is declined a lot since it is visible in his weak groundies.

I wish it's minor injury problem nothing permanent.

Just no, he won 6 slams already, and could easily win more given the poor younger generation. It's not like he is 0-13 in slam finals. Nothing wrong with 6-7 and counting. If almost every slam final is between the same top guys, not all of them can have clearly positive final win percentages, right? One has to lose each time.

Yes, but he is losing regularly..I seem to think he has declined, but how can a player decline if he is regularly making the finals, its not like has not won a masters 1000 event for a couple of years, he has won 14 Masters 1000 events since 2011..there is something wrong but as the slams go by and his drought continues he will not get to 10 let alone 8.

Djokovic is like Hingis, he had 1 incredible year, and a few extra AO titles. But then he just reached some more GS finals but not able to win. However he still remained top 2 and winning masters 1000. Exactly like Hingis.

Rafa is like Serena, so strong mentally and physically, a GOAT contender, always bounces back from setbacks, and incredible longevity. Also both at their best would win vs anyone as proven by their h2h.

That's a nice comparison.

This, just because Federer and Nadal are winning 14-17 slams doesn't mean that's regular. Djokovic has 6 slams, which is great, and he'll probably add a few more. It just means he isn't in the GOAT conversation, but that's nothing to be ashamed of.

Therefore, one can conclude that Novak is a nearly man.

6 time slam Champion ain't the nearly nothing. He's had 100+ weeks at number 1 and has multiple WTF titles too.

He'll end his career in the Agassi category of legend, without the supreme awesomeone of the bald one, though :p , though Djokovic is quite alright himself.

I've never see anyone compare Nole and Hingis. Rafa and Serena, yes. But Nole and Hingis is new. Never realized they were so similar, right down to the heartbreaking RG losses. But I think Nole will be able to overcome his so-called slump. Everyone goes through lulls.

Novak is a very, very good player, no doubt. One of the few players with all round abilities.
But he peaked ONCE in his career and won everything on his way / almost everything on his way.
Between the start of Jan 2011 to the end of Jan 12 (13 months), he won 4 of his 6 Major Titles.
After that he has been defeated by Rafa(3 times), Andy(2 times) and Stan(1 time) , the eventaul winners of Title in the Majors.
So we can call him the "Best man" who never became the Groom or the "nearly Man".
BUT things will Change after Wimbledon. Novak will NOT beat Tsonga, Andy, and the winner of the Bottom Half. It is too tough on his Worst surface.
BUt come the hard court season, he will prevail, if he can stay focused amidst his wedding and the Baby.

Hold on, if Murray beats him (which I strongly suspect he will) then he doesn't lose in the final anyway.

Rafa actually beat him 4 times since...FO F '12, FO SF '13, USO F '13, FO F '14.

I suspect Rafa will beat him again in either Wim F '14 or USO '14. Maybe both.

For me he's not a choker, he is a good player.. very good player who has elite skills... he just not as good as some think.
But to answer your question, he will be reminded as the ultimate tennis vulture, and the second best communist tennis player (after Lendl).
