I have to admit it..

This Open last 16 are as awful or even worse than last 16 of few last RG.. having likes of Sanguinetti, Robredo, Nieminen, Verdasko really sucks.. As much as I don't lik Hewitt, I felt almost relieved when Hewitt beat Dent today..

To think about it, one of Coria, Massu, Gasquet and Ginepri is going to be US Open semifinalist..

It is almost reminiscent of Wimbledon 2002.. I expect Federer to play some journeyman in the final.. If only he gets through the bunch of journeymen in his quarter of the draw..

At least we wont have to witness Federer destroying Hewitt for the nine millionth time in a final this time.
out of those four players, i think that only massu would be a shameful presence in the semis
:haha:

Welcome back ys, your trollery has been much missed. :yeah:
it's Verdasco, not Verdasko, I don't think He sucks, he beat Roddick...remember?
what with Coria being semifinalist? ...
or Massu? he won the gold medal...
oh... what about Gasquet? he beat Federer...
I don't like Hewitt, but he won, and he's there so there's nothing I can't do about it
Have u seen Sanguinetti vs Srichaphan match today? it was great, I think Davide deserves to be there!
what else... yes there's a lot of players i don't like but they're there! they won their matches and they're there! that's it!

This will happen again ... And after that Rogi will lose the final with Massu, the best USO ever
Yeah, it is kinda weird to have all these unfamilar names, but I expect things to return to form after this round.

Looking forward to the potential Fed/Nalby matchup. What if Nalby knocks him off again  Then the USO will be wide open and no one would have expected that.

that's the best part of tennis (except when your favorites lose :) ) you never know what's going to happen.
otherwise tennis would be really boring!
every player is hard, even if they're not seeded! there's some reason they're there...

Nope. I expect this match-and I would love to have it come on at night.
It could happen TF, it could happen. From the sounds of it Nalbandian played a blinder tonight against Gonzalez, and Federer looked rattled by Rochus' attacking play to his backhand, which Kiefer will be able to do just as well in the next round with his net-charging game.

And I've said it before and I'll say it again: it is GREAT to have unfamiliar names in the second week of a Slam.
Coria making a USO semifinal would not surprise me.

Gasquet making a USO semifinal some day would not surprise me. I suppose this early would be a surprise, though.

Coria has played in the second week of every slam (well, unless you don't count the 4th round at Wimbledon... in which case, he's one short), so I don't see what the big deal in his case is.

Oh, this is ys writing. Of course. Hope you had fun at the open :D

I think save for Coria, Those names you mentioned in this years R16 is underwhelming
Robredo has been in the R16 at this slam three times, btw. I guess those were all bad years ;)
Well, all the "familiar" names already lost  remember Andy in the first round

And i dont know whats bad about Coria, he get to the 4th round in every grand slam  , you must be refering to massu, verdasco and the real unfamiliars names...
But if theyre here is cause they deserve it and cause theyre better than the others

Hope a Coria Nalby final now....nobody will watch the final in the U.S  :D that would be funnnnnnnnnnnnnny!

I fully expect another voltchkov and another malisse.. We have a journeymen fiesta here..

Of course, Marat is injured, Roddick lost to nobody, and Nadal is clearly a one trick pony at this point.. Still, the Open's second week is overwhelmed with players who'll never come close to winning a Slam again..

It will be a familiar Federer-Hewitt semifinal and another semifinal will be an all-American match, with Ginepi winning his quarter and Agassi and Blake deciding the other one..
Whats wrong with some new names, i like Verdasco as a player, i rather watch him then watch Roddick's one dimensional game!

there are dozens of verdascos who would slip through with a lucky draw playing well for a week once per their career. Roddick is the last champ not named Federer.
