Just wondering how high someone needs to be ranked to qualify for direct entry into the main draw. There are 16 qualifiers, 8 Wild Cards and three PRs, so in theory the top 103 uninjured players should get direct entry. I noticed that at least 3 players ranked higher than that lost in qualifying though, while David Ferrer is ranked 148 but got in without even a wild card.

Just google it, it's really not that difficult. Cut off is 6 weeks prior to US Open. So the rankings change..
