I am getting a stipend below $1,000 a month but my graduate assistantship is also paying for my grad school in full so thats the main thing.

Lab rat.

Pretty normal salary in Switzerland.
Is food and housing more expensive than in the US then?

Also perhaps fix the typo in the thread title

Been thinking about building a career in Switzerland in a few years. Better weather than here and better earnings potential for me at least.

Where's the "I'm a trillionaire" option?

I raked in 4 trillion Zimbabwe dollars last year.

A lot more, you can't compare. Life costs are pretty proportional, as compared to other "rich" European countries.

If you're a new tenant in a simple flat with 1 bedroom, a kitchen, 1 sitting room and a bathroom, you'll pay between 2'000 $ to xx'xxx $, depending on the area of Geneva (Geneva being the most expensive in terms of rent). That's why I'm currently living with flatmates in the France border, it's not as expensive. (with my little internship "salary") The "rule" is to earn 3 times more than your rent if you don't want to be troubled financially.
The food is quite pricey too, but it's top-notch quality most of the time.

As a whole, we live fairly well in Switzerland.

Somewhere between 10k and millionaire.. Can't work out where I am on the poll.. But this makes me realise I should have a solid think about financing a yacht.

Just Graduated so atm, nothing. Will wait a month or two before signing on to jobseekers, hopefully I'll have found a job before then.

In a world of economic upheavals, food shortages, and abject poverty, here's a great chance for the MTF haves to make the have-nots feel good about their lives.

Flaunt it Fed-fans! Work it! Work it!

Go!
