I don't see him sinking that far down at all...he would never allow himself to retire with a ranking below the Top 100!

I don't see Peter hanging on much longer, really. He's proven that he can still play with the big boys, and I think after next year's Wimbledon he'll seriously start thinking about calling it quits.

Agree with Tennishack. He'll either quit at the end of the year after the baby is born or play until Wimbledon - he wants to go out there for the last time on Centre court, prefarably in the 2nd week.

I think the more apt question should have been "how many more Slams is Pete gonna win before he retires" instead of wondering how low he's gonna sink.

Afterall, he's done shown it doesn't matter his ranking, he's still got it in him to win Slams. Especially when everyone is saying he won't!

Too bad I don't think he's gonna prove it. I half way look for him to retire after the baby is born though he says he's gonna make a decision in November.

TC,

And here you've been telling me all this time, it's time for Pete to retire. If you wanna see him drop in the 200's, that mean's he'll be around when he's 50 or older! :D

I say either this past US Open was his last, or he will give Wimbledon another go. I don't think Pete wants to see his last time at Wimbledon be a 2r loss. If I were Pete I would skip Roland Garros just to train for Wimbledon. After Wimbledon just stop, like Martina did. Let his last US Open be a win.

i wonder if i can lend him come concrete boots? :p ;)

Pete got lucky in New York bec he was facing Agassi in a finals. the problemi is that he is not sure if it was luck or talent, hence the dithering. also he doesn't feel that history appreciates him enuf. so he wants us to beg him to stay. the problem is that we Pete-bashers clearly outnumber the beggars. :p ;)

poor Pete. he's still waiting for that ticker tape parade telling him he's the greatest. his hair will grow back faster than that's ever gonna happen...:p ;)

If you say it is luck that Pete win this year, than Hewitts US Open title last year is the luckiest day of his life because he don't have to take down 3 US Open champion before reaching the final.

Pete is not waiting for the parade because everyone has said he is the greatest. Can anyone honestly say he is not the greatest? Do anyone (including Pete haters) honestly believe there will be a single tennis player able to break Pete's all records?
