His moonballs trouble Djokovic who puts back a weak short ball that allows Nadal to hit a winner. Another recurrent situation was Djokovic insisting on CC shots which lacked depth and allowed Nadal to counter with his FH to the open court. At one point of the match both were hitting very weak shots compared to the usual due to tiredness but Nadal stepped it up and started litteraly whipping the ball while Djokovic didn't recover.

Quantitive analysis of a match does not necessarily indicate whether one was aggressive or not in a match. Winner count is overrated.

Consider Novak had 11 Ace and Rafa only 1, it is large margin in Winner for Rafa

According to the match it is even more obvious Rafa is the guy who pull the trigger first, no matter 40-0 or 0-40

This was also the worst I've seen Nole play in a long time, he looked completely lifeless out there. So good for Rafa, outdoing him by one winner.

Djokovic today played like SHIT

Remember Rome? 45-16 winners stat

Nole can hit 45 winners in 28 games... But today only 43 in 40? Lol 12 more games but less winners, more errors

The key against Nole for Nadal is not allow him playing within the court, dictating the points. When Nadal is able of playing his aggressive tennis, i. e., with more length than his usual, then Nole is a less dangerous player since he is not a really power player or any kind of ballbasher (he rather takes advantage of the power of his opponent balls more than hit it with his own power) and above all when he is obliged to play behind the line in a consistent way he loses his ability to open those killer angles and psychologically he feels less confident in his game.

That was also the worst we've seen Ferrer play, the worst we've seen Murray play, etc. You know why they played that way? Because Rafa aka the GOAT made them play that way.

Sharapova still had more winners in 3 sets.

Djokovic barely moved for 90 minutes! :spit:

Dull won thanks to his moonballs, with the help of suffocating hot weather, that is all.
Any rally that got into a rythm he got owned, and that's because he doesn't have the talent to play true tennis.
