This is why its never good to go against home players. If this was played outside USA then it would have been a different story.

No words. Alex should be ashamed of himself. Most embarrassing loss in his career for sure but I will forgive him since he is 17. Thiem's loss was more embarrassing. He is 3 years older than Alex.

Honestly though, nothing to see here. This year he's also lost to Michael Russell, Jürgen Zopp and John-Patrick Smith so far. Coric also had some terrible losses, consistency is probably the major difference between the young guns and the real pros. The lows just show their inconsistency, the highs indicate what they're capable of. And Alex has had quite some highs in the last couple of weeks.

By the way, this year it will be 10 years since Ginepri made a grandslam semifinal. How things changed, now people are laughing at everyone who loses to him.
