Thailand No. 1 Paradorn Srichaphan advanced to the semifinals after second seed Lleyton Hewitt of Australia has withdrawn from the $US550,000 Thailand Open owing to injury at Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani, Prathum Thani, Thailand earlier today.
In practicing today, Hewitt over stretched his inside left groin which has been stiff during the training in the morning after a tough match against Justin Gimelstob late Thursday. " I'm very disappointed for the fans and the tournament. I would come back to complete in the tournament next year. It was great to be back because I have had a great time here in Bangkok and the tournament has been terrific. " said Hewitt
As the result of the withdrawal, Paradorn advances to the semi-finals and plays Andy Murray of Great Britain on Saturday.
