Federer and Djokovic has played in 9 ATP Finals against each other spanning from 2007 to 2014 however none of which were grand slam events, considering since 08,09 there was a Big Four and such a large gap between them and the rest of the pack it's hard to believe that they haven't played in that circumstance.

If Federer loses to Raonic then it won't be the case obviously and there's a chance it may not ever happen.

Actually its not that hard to believe.

If you take into account that #1 faces #2 in finals its the norm.

When Federer was #1 Rafa was #2.

When Rafa was #1 Federer was #2.

When Federer sliped to #3 that option was almost never used. Mostly necause Federer would have to face Rafa in SF.
