Meddy should have win that in 2...leads a set and a break. Still far away from his best. Sad and hard to watch.

Fantastic result for Wu and for tennis. Good to see Wu finding his form again after all his medical issues. He's too good z talent to be ranked where he is. He should get some more WCs now which will help his ranking.

Medvedev doing everything he can to put his opponent off tells you everything you need to know about him and his fans.

Must be really tough to be an Octopus fan these days, title less since Rome 2023. Total underperformance by a New Big 3 member who were supposed to rule tennis from 2020-2030 and here we are in 2025 and Octopus will turn 30 early 2026. Tough stuff for Octopus' fanboys.

Wu himself was choking like crazy losing five straight points from 4-0 up in the tiebreak — only for Medvedev to revert to even more outrageous and badly executed pushing at **5-4.
Although "revert" is probably not the right word as it implies he had been doing something different before that — nope, it was the same old pushing through the middle of the court with no depth or angles in desperate hope that Wu was going to make tons of unforced errors. Exactly what Med and his new "coaches" were working on for three weeks since his USO exit is a mystery.

I didn't get much sleep recently so I slept after the roof was closed when Wu was down 5-7 0-1*, but not that surprised he managed to come back after adapting to the indoor conditions. Wu is a legit top 20-30 level player indoors, but he can't stay healthy long enough to get direct entry to indoor tournaments. All his most impressive performances like against Fritz in Dallas, Alcaraz in Shanghai last year and today were under a closed roof, while outdoors he often runs out of gas easily.

Why are people acting so surprised? Med's form lately has been utter shit and Wu has been playing the best tennis of his life this week

Yes he got very lucky to win that 2nd set, but that's what happens when a player who lacks confidence is your opponent, they're more volnurable than usual

Would be incredible if Wu goes on to win this tournament
