Cilic is defending champion, he's now dropped from #59 to #89 without the 250 points, and he's on a collision course with Meddy. Poor Meddy, should have taken a break. Another early defeat will just make him drop even lower in confidence.

I see Zhizen is baaack 😍 what a stupid draw, him against Bu. He has dropped to #421... It's gonna be a long journey back to the top 50.

There will be no such thing as early defeat this time. At least semifinal is a necessity.

Wu takes down Mannarino in 3 so the Chinese men go a perfect 3/3 for today, all hard-fought wins.

Wu can play an excellent level of tennis when he's on. I remember the match he played against Alca last year in Shanghai, where he displayed a brilliant world-class shotmaking ability. He was even up a minibreak in the first set TB, especially the point that brought him the minibreak was a spectacular passing shot, and had he been better mentally, he could have stolen that TB in the end, and maybe a whole match afterwards.

Basavareddy takes down defending champ Cilic, great week for players born in 2005 as Shang, Zhou, Tien, Prizmic and Basavareddy are all in R16 of 250 tournaments.

Just noticed Hijikata-Carabelli first set was 102 minutes and had 145 total points, that has to be close to the record for a TB set (and could have been longer if the TB wasn't a blowout).
