What exactly does it have to with feminism? :stupid: It's a tabloid way of making a controversial headline out of nothing whatsoever. Why would anyone with a brain eat it up and spread the non-existent controversy to forums and such is the real question.

To sum up what was actually said. Gulbis wouldn't advise his sisters to become pros, doesn't think it's a good life for a woman. It appears one of them disagrees and might try it nevertheless. Big story, no.

 at people not even seeing the wrong of what Gulbis says. That quote seems taken right from 19th century. Don't you realize that you could say the same about ANY type of professional commitment? So it would mean that the fate of women would be to raise children and occasionally exercise a recreational / socializing job? Nice society indeed...

It's a bit different, in tennis you have to travel so that makes it tough to raise Kids whereas as a business women at least you are in the same place and can hire a Nanny during the day. It does create problems you can't deny that.

That's EXACTLY what it has to do with feminism.

This is a complete non-story. Yet the female (likely feminist) author, is using it to create controversy, as if Gulbis is somehow putting females down.

Do you get it now?

The problem is in why he thinks it's not a good life for them, though. He said it would be a problem because it hinders their ability to have a family and kids, as if women should be making having a family a much higher priority than men.

But any kind of successful career will "create problems", whether it be for frequent trips, crazy hours, random schedules, public exposure, etc... It's not about tennis, it's about being fully committed into something that is not your family life. With that kind of reasoning you're actually denying women this right. And you know, there's another solution that the good old nanny : something strangely overlooked by many people that is called a father...

I feel like you're agreeing with the headline, and not with what Gulbis actually said, though. He basically said that women shouldn't go out and pursue the career they want if it gets in the way of having kids.

There is a difference between Feminism and FemiNazism. Feminists want equal treatment for men and women. I am all for that. FemiNazi's masquerade as feminists but they hate men and think if we kill all men, everything in the world would be solved.

No wonder Gulbis is so popular here.

Why should a woman have to have children before she is 27?

Technology is advancing. In the future, we will have artificial wombs so women wouldn't have to give up 9 months o their life to make children.
