Hi there , I am currently using a Babolat Pure Drive Cortex but at times i feel that i cannot get the power which i am attepting to put on the ball and also sometimes i mishit a shot due to my handling of the racquet. I am using a 4 1/8 grip sze as that was the only one available at the time but i am a 4 5/8 , would that make the be causing these problems ?

Would i possibly be able to buy an add on which can make this into the correct size ? If so could you point me in the right direction ?

no offence, but if you're a grip size 5 it was an incredibly stupid idea buying a size 1. you'll be gripping the racket way too tight, which could give you arm problems and the racket will be nowhere near as stable as it should be. you won't be able to make it the correct size without altering the weight and therefore also the playing characteristics of the racket. the best thing to do is buy a racket with the correct grip size

Ok thanks for that , i thought that may have been the case. What racket would you recomend i am the type of player who plys from the baseline and likes to hit with power. I come to the net ocasionaly but rarely use dropshots.

the pure drive seems like a good racket for you and if you like it there is no point in changing, but you need the right grip size

a grip size that is way to small will cause you problems however 5 seems rather large with 3 being average

you can buy grip enlargers but i do not recomend using more than 2 of those which would take it up to a 3 which might help

the kblade is 4g heavier than a pure drive and a smaller head size. its a more control orientated racket. i've hit with it a bit and i find it really sweet, probably one of the best rackets i've ever hit with. however, for me its too light, but as its a similar weight to what you are used to, you may like it. i would recommend demoing it before buying it though

sometimes some decent sports shops do demos or some of the bigger racket sports specialists will do a demo service by post if you ask nicely enough. another way to do it is to go down to a local club and try and have a hit with some of the rackets the players there are using
