Hi,

I have always used a standard karakal grip with all of my rackets, but I'm now finding that my hand slips too much on the handle.

I'm considering trying out tournagrip but just wanted some advice on it first...

With tournagrip do you leave your existing cushioned grip on the racket and apply this over the top? If so, would you buy your next racket with the handle a size smaller to compensate?

I currently use a size 3 (4 3/8) handle, so if using tournagrip aswell should I be getting a size 2 (4 1/4) handle?

Thanks for any info, sorry for my grip ignorance!

AFAIK, you only use a cushion to increase grip size. The tournagrip is pretty thin, so I just use it over the usual grip for my 4 1/2 and over the cushion in my 4 1/4. I've never seen anybody here using just the overgrip over the handle (there's usually some other grip, either cushion or the one that comes with the racket, that's not so thick).

I don't know if I answered your question, but I sweat a lot and use almost all the time the tournagrip, so I have some experience.

Thanks.

So if I'm currently using a 4 3/8 handle and I'm happy with that size, in order to use tournagrip (or any other overgrip) should I be getting a racket with a 4 1/4 handle to compensate for the extra thickness of the grip?

I don't think you should, as the tournagrip is very thin and gets thinner the more you use it (until it falls to pieces ).
