So this is my first thread yet and may it be a good one for Grigor, filled with joy and happiness for us! After the anti-climax of the clay season (though still successful in general), we are all looking at a short break and then back to the roller-coaster ride of being fans of Dimitrov. We have the Queens (09-15 June), then the BNP PARIBAS TENNIS CLASSIC Exhibition on 17-20, ending with the Wimby (23 June - 06 July). Short but sweet!

C'mon Grigor, show us who you REALLY are!

He was really poor on the grass last year, so I'm not expecting much. Whatever he says hard courts are really his best surface.

...on the other hand, he would not have been happy with his last two matches on the clay, so I would expect him to be really fired up and keen to do something good on the grass. He can play well on grass (remember the Tsonga match a few years ago, not to mention winning the juniours Wibledon). He just has to forget about the grinding and think and play more aggressively with flatter shots. Let's see...

His footwork on grass has been pretty bad and his returning has left him exposed and too reliant on serving well.

It will be a big fight now to get that top 10 spot, but thankfully not many points to defend in the coming weeks.

TBH the best possible draw
no berdych, no hewitt but mahut whom he yet beat on grass
no gulbis but dolgo who he should beat on grass
only ward is no perfect draw but he still has to reach the semi and maybe also the final here

Some tricky opponents to get through in this draw. Ward has improved a bit recently although he shouldn't trouble Grigor. Mahut is a grasscourt specialist so he will be tough. Grigor should do well though if he plays to his ability.

No idea what to expect here so i'll just keep it low..as some said he could lose in r2 but he could also go deep here. I hope to see him playing and fighting well again!
You, guys, didn't mention he also plays dubs with wawa :) OHBH glory for the lovers of it (like me)! Watch and learn how to hit a backhand not ending into the net, Grisha :D

As expected, Ward beat Rola so he will be Grigor's next opponent. Ward knows how to play on grass so could be dangerous but Grigor really should win this one in straight sets.

Let's be happy there wasn't drama :):) Good match, being aggressive, but not to much - i liked it.
Keep it up, Grisha, and good luck with the dubs later on.
btw, unbelievable 1st % service by James (88% in the 1st set) - obv not very efficient but still

one more win and he should be in front of gasquet again with respect to a top 12 seeding in wimbledon
As the top 4 seeded (nadal if he reaches the second week as well) are arguably also the 4 best players on grass this would be extremely important

Straightforward win today. Nothing too special but he raised his game when he needed to. It was disappointing that he dropped serve in the 2nd set. He handled it well by breaking again in the next game but better players will not give him those opportunities.

He won his doubles match 6-4 6-4
