Only watched this from early 2nd set on. Dzumhur was continuously complaining - first about the court conditions, too dangerous in his opinion (it had rained before).
Then at 2-3 deuce Dzumhur hit a 1st serve that was called out but umpire checked mark and overruled to replay the point. Dzumhur claimed it was a late call and he should be awarded the point since Gombos missed the return (he was probably correct). He went nuts and asked for the supervisor but the umpire wouldn't call him immediately. He said things like "If I lose it's only because of you" and more.

Then he lost serve and went berserk again, another tirade and then sat down, requesting an obviously fake MTO. Now Gombos got involved too, they almost came to blows at the net. Dzumhur accused Gombos of dishonesty about the overruled serve while Gombos said Dzumhur has been delaying the game from the beginning. Gombos wanted to continue but no chance since both supervisor and trainer were on their way. The trainer couldn't find anything though.

The match itself was actually okay. Gombos was dictating play while Dzumhur was very passive and only retrieving and digging out balls. His 2nd serve was ridiculously weak in the 3rd set. He double-faulted twice after umpire said "wait please" before his second serve because ballgirl hadn't picked up a ball and he had another tantrum about that. Gombos missed the chance to go up 2 breaks and almost choked at 5-4 but finally served it out.
There was a handshake but Dzumhur must have said something that made Gombos explode so they almost came to blows again and had to be separated.

Dzumhur actually left the court in tears. Is he always like that? Maybe some personal problems.

Anyway, another classic match on infamous Court M2 in Hamburg. :worship:

Dzumhur's behavior on court is always bad. He complains for almost everything.

He had problems with Hamou in San Bennedetto too, no handshake and some words exchanged during the match.

"You need help!" :rolls:

Sounds like a highly entertaining match. Glad Gombos won it.

(The saddest thing about video #1 is that you didn't zoom in on a shirtless Gombos :p)

dzumhur seems to be a crybaby.
also he obviously really wanted to qualify here, so i see that it must be really frustrating to lose in QR1. anyway, that's how it is!

Yes, he complains for everything all the time. Such an annoying player.

Damir really complains about much things, and that is what he needs to change, and to try to know how to get over some things that happen during match. This is main thing that stops him from being a really solid player on ATP level.
But sometimes he is really right, that is when situation gets ugly like today.
He isn't always like this, but 1st time he left in tears, it would be nice to know why.
