I just found out that a family friend was doing security for Greg Norman, Pat Rafter, Lleyton, Kim, John Fitzgerald @ the golf yesterday.

Havn't spoken to him much, but he basically said it's a pity that more people don't make an effort to get to know Lleyton on a personal basis because he's a really nice guy...

More news later when I get to talk to him more

I'm sure he's as nice as pie in his social life, but on-court that demonic aspect of his character just can't be controlled. I wonder if he simply needs to let out all his pent-up anger at having to be so polite and sociable off-court, and lets it rip on his opponent when the going gets tough.

It would be quite amusing if the theory held true in reverse - presumably Alex Corretja would be nightmarishly rude and pushy in his private life, while Rafter would intentionally run kittens and poor defenceless puppies over with his car, while poor Lara begged him to be more humane.

I'm afraid to say it is - indeed, he even received a humanitarian award for his selfless donations to charity and his caring work with animals, especially cats left in pounds in L.A.

Furthermore, I gather he's branching out into stand-up comedy and become quite a hit in low-key nightclubs; his zany style of observational humour, wacky expressions and exquisite comic timing could enable him to lay claim to being the missing Marx brother in disguise.

the Android as a stand-up comic? LMAO!!!! back in the day that would have inspired one of my "tall tales" about him. i must post some of those stories on this site one of these days...

I have this surreal vision of Sampras, mike in hand, warming up the crowd with some well-rehearsed patter:

"You know, why is it that when you're at the French, playing first round and getting beaten up by some European non-entity, that he starts grunting on ya? Geez, it's irritating you know, like Andrea last year (does good impression of Gaudenzi growl)..."

"And why is it always so hard to get the lids off cans of tennis balls, huh?" (peals of laughter from the crowd)

...meanwhile Bridge (his wife) is chewing furiously in the audience. she has become his barometer of success. the faster she chews, the better he knows his jokes to be. and right now his girl was chomping away.

the Android breathes a sigh of relief. perhaps he could risk a Baldy joke now? surely Andre's popularity didn't exempt him from becomg the butt of humor.

butt of humor!! Lud, he was cracking himself up! damn, he was funny...

"so have y'all ever taken a gooooood look at Andre's butt?", he asked the audience.

silence...

"...so Andre's butt and all, you ever take a good, long look at it?"

Bridge's chewing slows... where the heck is he going with this butt thing? this is NOT what they rehearsed last night! what the hell was he doing up there on that stage? Jeez Louise, was he coming out! was the Android GAY!
