Guga and Saretta, along with the rest of the team, approved the surface of the courts for the Davis Cup tie. According to them, it´s not as fast as they thought it would, and the balls are the ones they play with most of the season (Penn ATP). Therefor, they are confident and ready to play.
Also, captain Pardal (Ricardo Acioly) says he has the team on his head, knowing who will play the singles and doubles. But he will keep the mistery untill Thursday.
In my opinion, Saretta and Sa have an almost equal shot against Enqvist. None of them would be the fave to win. Thomas is not on the best of his form, but he would have a big edge on indoors against any of the two.
Therefor, I would put Saretta to taste a big match for the first time and let Sa fresh for the doubles.
I´d love if Guga could play first, and maybe against Bjorkman. If he can score a win (tough, but not at all impossible), the next to play could be Flavio, with not a big pressure.
If they go on a 1-1 to the doubles day, I´m happy. I trust Guga-Sa as a team, and we could take it all to the third day.
It´s tough, but that´s the scenario I see happening.
