I agree with everybody else here. I don't see anyone else who deserves more than the Frenchman. He has done so much for the sport and deserves to get something back now. He's a random player, so he can lose in the first round or end up winning the whole thing. Let''s see how far he can go.

There are plenty of Swiss players more deserving of a WC, but I guess most of them will be at RG qualies.

At least Paire has done well the last few weeks, so for a non-Swiss player to get a WC, he's a solid choice.

Not really, you just answered your own question.

Stricker, Riedi, Ritschard, Bellier and Laaksonen are all in RG qualies.

After that is Jerome Kym, who recieved a QWC and then after that you're into guys ranked 500+ and 25 years or older.

They are still more deserving of the WC (well, not Laaksonen). They just prioritized RG for obvious reasons.

LOL wut bro? How on earth are middling journeymen more deserving than one of the hottest players on tour right now?

Because it's a Swiss event, obviously.
Bad choice. The French have so many home tournaments that can give him a WC. Would have been a good experience for a Swiss player
this is just so he can see stan? :p
