Thanks for the dijus for starting something like this, but this was done in 2006 by Stebs and the format worked well and will operate the same way

General Messages Best Poster 2007

Nominate three posters who you think have been the best in General Messages. Your reasons for posting can be anything from liking their posts, agreeing with them, entertainment value or for whatever reasons.

Order your nominations as follows:

1 - Poster A
2 - Poster B
3 - Poster C

In this scenario Poster A would get 3 points, Poster B, 2 points and Poster C, 1 point.

In a week's time (next Friday) I will count up the nominations and there will be 20 posters put into two semi-final polls from which the top 5 of each will come out. Then there will be a final poll to see who is the best GM poster of 2007.

1. Merton : Very intelligent guy, backs up his points in a clear and logical manner and if he isn't sure about a subject, doesn't try bluff and bullshit as if he knows it and he asks questions about it.

2. Sjengster: Very dry wit, doesn't make that many appearances these days, but makes them count.

3. Mister Q : The guy is a Roddick and Agassi fan and I think he is great, that alone should say enough. Very funny guy, knows quite a bit about the game, but isn't always obvious to people who don't look for these things.

The reason is pretty much the same for all of them - all are quite knowledgeable and have a good understanding of the game and they all present their points in a very clear and logical way. As a result, debating tennis issues with them is very interesting and rewarding. The order is basically based on whose posts I have seen more of recently and relly does not mean much. I could just as well select any other permutation. I would have tried to squeeze GWH/PMK Is Innocent in there somewhere, but he will get enough votes from others anyway. Also, honorable mentions to Apemant, GlennMirnyi, Sjengster and Scarecrows.

Once again I get snubbed, no best poster nomination, no most annoying fanbase(I've almost been Ferrers fanbase for a few years).

GHW (bossy, arrogant MTF dictator and Norwegian but I really cant deny his knowledge of tennis history, his understanding of the game and his informative and entertaining threads about former great characters in the sport I before did not know anything about, without him mtf would not be the same)

Shotgun Talks sense, and does not go insane if you disagree with his views (same cannot be said of many others). Doesn't hurt that he is probably the only unbiased moderator around.
