Big mess

But from chaos comes opportunity

We will see who takes the advantage
IMO advantage is less important than tennis survival.
Tennis tournament format is far less fit to pandemic than a Basket Ball or a Soccer match.

Agreed on that

Players must do everything to survive

Remember the basic goal of an athlete. To have your body hold up long enough to be able to make enough money from the game to be able to retire young (30s and 40s) and not have to work ever again. Unless you want to. And we probably will. But you don't have to. Whatever that number is for you, have it in your mind and work hard every day to reach it

"They" would never do it because they wouldn't fit as much cash into their anonymous suits but if they were really "serious" about covid (which they aren't)

They should have scrapped the world tour and done a one-off year of NATIONAL tournaments.

Just keep players in their own country and set up like a dozen tournaments throughout the year in the specific country with their own players.

It would be awesome and "STOP THE SPREAD"

But you perfectly know Tennis incomes are from Advertising (above all when there are no Tickets) and most companies able to afford Tennis sponsoring are worldwide companies that do not care about National Tournaments.

And fan wise, except maybe Russian that combine High Level and High National Pride, I guess nobody cares about knowing who can prevail between Djokovic and Krajinovic, or Federer and Wawrinka or Humbert and Monfils in a National competition...

One thing is state Victoria in Australia, but why are the other dates not 100% confirmed? Why want IW cancel their tourney again?
So many questions, but no safe answers.

ATP should really step up and just take ownership, but they don't seem to be up to the task. #canceltheATP #formanotherunionwhichhasasfirstthegame

When the states of Victoria and California say, you can't have your tennis tournament here, what is the ATP supposed to say "screw you, we're gonna do it anyway?" 🤷‍♂️

In case of AO a compromise has been reached.

For the early US tourneys ATP should really pressure hard, appeal to their contract and to the circumstance that hopefully the pandemic will gradually decrease in 1st Q of 2021.

If Indian Wells is cancelled again it will take a long time to recover. I could see Ellison being fed up with California and looking to move it to another location. Problem is that he's invested a huge amount in the site there.

I do not understand why is Doha not played in the first week? That would be perfect week for them with no tournaments in Australia. So many weird things...

Don't they get Atp retirement money if played long enough?
