2007 finished with one top 10 player, Richard Gasquet.
At that momentt he was called Baby-Roger and he was the big future of tennis, while waiting for Gael Monfils the "Junior King".
2008 was the best french year of the last 5.
Tsonga rising, AO final, ranked 6 in the world, Paris-Bercy finally in a frenchman hands.
Also Simon made an excellent run, number 7 in the world, beating Federer 2 times and reaching SF in YEC.
2009, no frenchies in the WTF, Tsonga lowering his level, but he still managed to end the year as a top 10 and to win some titles. Gael Monfils reaching the final of Paris, but he couldn't win vs Novak.
2010, the decline. No frenchmen in top 10 at november.
Nothing. Tsonga injured, Monfils, Gasquet and Simon with good performances but no big runs (except Monfils losing Paris-Bercy final again).
2011, Tsonga rises from the ashes.
SF at Wim, final in Paris, 2 titles. Number 6 again.
Monfils was top 10 for a while, Gasquet had a really good first half, and Simon also won 2 titles.
What would happen in 2012? Who will be the French no1?
What do you think?
I think Tsonga could reach a new career-high and, maybe this is the time for him to win a GS.
Gasquet needs to reach his good form again, he can do it.
Monfils... A total mistery.
