Great match. It was a war and Djokovic got through it.

PCB had a bad miss on BP on a line 2S to go up a break early, later a BP to go up in the 3rd set at 3-3 where he missed a FH drive long, DF’ed to get broken 1S but broke afterwards, and missed a sitter down BP to go down a break 4S but would have had one more left. So chances were there for more...And some comical shot choices of open court vs. player court.

Annoying theatrics and faking to start the match by Djokovic, not sure why he needs that. By the third set he was in peaky mode though. PCB held up well. It was solid tennis the first 2 sets, but really great tennis and rallying the last 2.

But again, his drama and constant faking is tiresome… big ass band aid, touching himself everywhere, walking slowly between points… and then shows absolutely no signs of physical hindering when playing. He needs to cut that.

Djokovic rarely shouted and roared as much as here, which is saying something… sometimes it was pure rage and screaming because PCB served well down BP. Becker noticed this also+other Commie.

None of this was physical. They were nerves. This was obvious because it wasn’t just one part of his body but many parts. He was feeling nerves and tension considering what happened the last time he played PCB. It was affecting him physically, even though nothing was wrong.

After set one, he was finally able to relax and just play his game. And with that, he has exorcised the demons and showed he is ready now to replace the slam that was taken from him at the USO.

5 down, 2 to go.

Nole did not really play well in the first set. The MTF trolls were celebrating in the live thread when he lost the first set. It was like Christmas was around the corner for them. However, Djokovic found his range and beat PCB in 3 sets thereafter.

My realizations from this:

1. Had he not been defaulted, he would have won the match against PCB in New York and eventually the USO 2020 beating Thiem.
2. MTF trolls were so deprived of Nole losing for quite a long time. I could sense their hunger for a Nole defeat. Thinking about it, Novak has been winning more than losing for the last decade. The trolls must have been stressed out because of his domination in the last 10 years. They must have a very pitiful life.
3. Admittedly, Djokovic needs to step up if he wants to win another Roland Garros. He should not have another poor performance going forward. No more unnecessary drop shots, please.

Horrible result. Honestly PCB could have won that match but just didn’t bring the required level of clutch.

McEnroe on ES: 'We've seen these shenanigans again from Djokovic' lol

This match was obviously part of Novak's neck injury recovery plan.
Hilarious.

PCB had innumerable chances to seize control of the match, but much like Sinner yesterday, faltered and wilted when it mattered the most.

As for the clown across the net from him...

That was a performance more befitting of a TV set compared to a tennis court. Send him packing, Stef.

PCB plays very similar to Novak, that's why this match wasn't that 'attractive' at least in first sets, and became better in 4th, and why it was uncomfortable for Novak to chew it out. But, win is a win.

I watched the whole match and sets 3 & 4 were just excellent tennis from both.
You can say what you want but if you watched all 4 sets, it was just an intensive and intriguing match with so many winners on both sides. The rallies were extremely high quality in set 3 and 4.
PCB is the episteme of solid, plays two great Grand Slam tournaments after each other although I still think he should have beaten Zverev.
As for Djokovic: His behaviour was a bit annoying today but his level of play in sets 3 & 4 was extremely good.

Very interesting semifinals coming up.
