New dates (for now anyway) are May 30 - Jun 13

Told you so, etc...

As it stands anybody in the second week of Roland-Garros will have to withdraw from Stuttgart, Rosmalen.

Queens and Halle schedule to begin the very next day after the final on June 14.

France destroying the grass season. 😎

As everybody knows, the COVID season normally ends at the end of May. :ROFLMAO:

Soooo idiotic. Fucks over the grass season and leaves a gap in the clay season when there is absolutely no plausible reason that a one week delay will have any significant impact on the sanitary situation.

Yep, it changes nothing in terms of health and safety. It's just posturing, virtue signaling (look at us, we care!) and ultimately delaying the inevitable that if they're this traumatized and worried they should just cancel it. They're just hoping to god that somehow a 7 day delay will allow them to have fans as opposed to be being strictly behind closed doors. All about the € € €

They are so selfish. Same like last year. There is a calendar and other tournaments as well. You can not do whatever you want.

Do we know there is a grass season this year?
I mean, last year there wasn't.
Nothing is cancelled/rescheduled yet on the main tour, but Surbiton (big time grass challenger) already announced it won't be taking place again this year for example.

The expexted selfish move.

Lot of players will skip the French Open now to focus on the more important Wimbledon.

Federer surely will not play it now, too. What a mess, and all because of massive greed.

What a shame, such a rubbish decision.
We don't how the pandemic is gonna be next week, but we already know what's gonna happen in 2 months :ROFLMAO:

Luckily players usually in the 2nd week of FO usually don't play Rosmalen or Stuttgart anyway, so it will be a little like 10 years ago when grass season was shorter, and Queens & Halle were immediately after FO

Errrrrr....what one week changes ? Do they miraculously think that on 23rd May they will have 40.000 new cases, while suddenly on 30th there will be 3.000 ?

Such things happen only in Poland when the government is organizing some important (for them) public holidays or elections etc...

Just strip Roland Garros of its major status and give it to Madrid or Rome. They think they can just change the calendar with no thought of any other tournaments. Sick.
