Fognini played surprisingly well - he doesn't seem to get flustered easily and always seems to know what to do next, no matter where he is on the court. He was accurate today, and solid from the back of the court, and on top of all Murray's little variations.

Murray, however, played a terrible match really - the curse of the 11am start bit hard again here. He looked like this was the comeback match - all out of sorts, at odd with himself, not match sharp and it was all a bit too loose and lacklustre.

A disappointing performance after getting by Ginepri pretty smartly yesterday, one would hope he would from strength to strength, instead it went backward in a big hurry. Hopefully he will be a bit more like himself in Cincy.

Well done to Fognini though - he handled himself well and played well out there today and thoroughly deseverved to get the win.

this Fabio is good, top 100 is a certainty now but he has the potential to aim much higher :yeah:

Oh dear

I think this just about shows how thoughtless Ginepri was yesterday.

Pretty awful result, but not hugely important in the long term for Muzza, he'll be good for the US.

Some good signs of maturity from Fabio, who played a focused match, hope he can keep this up. Anyway Murray should never be losing to him on hc´s, he looked pretty low confident on his shots, specially those on the fh´s side

Fognini played a good game today and knew where to play the ball to, the forehand.
