Re: FITD - 2010 Miami | STATISTICS & Standings Updated after Round 2

Since I seem to be at the center of this disagreement :)lol:), I'll put in my 2 cents...

No, this works only in the case you talk about. When a non-seeded player withdraws, a lucky loser replaces him in the whole picks without picks replacement. That's beacause the main draw just changed in a single position only due to withdrawal of a single non-seeded player & the player (LL) who replaces him wasn't picked by any picker before !
While when a seeded player withdraws, 2 changes occur in the main draw; a non-seeded player becomes seed & his position turns from a place to another (of the seed who withdrew) & a lucky loser replaces that player who became seed !. And the former may be picked in some draws and may play, in any round, against another player who is also picked! Now how I can count both ?!!

Fortunately, I have an example here for what I talk about! :
KarlyM, one of those who didn't replace their picks, picked Almagro & Schwank in Round 2 and both players played against each other in that round. So, "Almagro" pick is invalid for KarlyM & the others who didn't replace their picks even if they didn't pick Schwank in Round 2 as the same situation may ocuur in any next round/s.
About the part I bolded -- I believe the 2 changes in the draw occur only when a seeded player withdraws before the start of play (which is what happened). Had Monfils waited until after the start of play to withdraw, his spot would have been filled with an LL and Almagro would have been kept in his original spot in the draw (unseeded). A non-seeded player is replaced by a LL no matter if play started or not.

This difference in the draw changes might be what's causing the confusion. I know in past FITD events I can remember, only the replacements for seeded players were counted. But all the instances I remember occurred when the seeded player withdrew after the start of play (after the start of play = no one is able to change their picks). I don't know what the rule is for draw changes before the start of play with whether or not to count replacements in draws/picks that were not changed (and had a small window of time to do so).

Just to note, I didn't replace my picks because I wasn't online to notice the change - no big deal, it happens.

Now Both Almagro and Schwank aren't in the 3rd round, only Schwank is, the previously Almagro is now Mello;)
Just to repeat this again (confusing )...

Almagro replaced Monfils as the seeded player
Mello replaced Almagro
Almagro had a first round bye (no points for anyone no matter what)
Almagro def. Schwank in R2
Mello lost to Anderson in R1

In my original picks, I had:
Schwank beating Monfils in R2
Almagro beating Anderson in R1 (and then Almagro beating Wawrinka in R2).

If the replacements were to be counted, I would have:
Schwank beating Almagro in R2
Mello beating Anderson in R1 (and then Mello beating Wawrinka in R2).
Schwank lost in R2 and Mello lost in R1, so I get no points no matter what.
(I do get points for Schwank winning R1, but that is not affected by the draw changes.)

Thanks Hazem for the updates. :wavey: (My scores are correct ;))

Ok, thanks all. I never mind to count "Almagro" if this is the rule. I'm waiting for d-s's opinion & till this moment I'll continue doing the updates as I do from the start.

ok, thanks Hazem, not trying to confuse things but I thought that's the way it worked. It doesn't even affect me anyway:lol:

Ok for everyone who didn't revise their draws, Almagro should be counted for every Monfils pick and Mello should replace any Almagro pick. I think that's just the easiest way to do it.

That doesn't make any sense. It's different matches. You can't give points to so. for a winner he didn't pick.

I think the scores are only for the bottom part of the draw ( as it was posted before play had hardly started yesterday) :)

Top half of draw for round 3 results are still to be added

what means no TB?
No Tie-Break between them. They have equal points in all rounds.
