I watched a bit of the second set, Dima's attitude was spot on I thought, really showed why hes so good. I also noticed why hes known as the master tactician, hitting it to Fishes' backhand and letting him hit DTL winners.

Fish served better, and that serve kept him out of trouble. It was a very close match until 67 44.

Fish played well, Dima meltdown after losing the first set breaker his attitude was bad.

The court is too slow.

I noticed that too - what in the world did they do to it? I remember other years, the ball was sliding around like it was a hockey puck.

the commentators were saying it's a completely new court this year, just totally different surface. Don't know why they changed it, but it's just moooore slowing down of the sport :sobbing:

Mardy does something right for once, woot! Nice job taking down the blogger king, Mardy. Keep going. :drive:

As I have said elsewhere, it used to be that the players had to adapt their game as best they could to the surface, but now it seems the surface is expected to be adapted to the players.
I agree. It's an offensive practice.

20 aces from Fish. Tursunov was throwing his racquet around from early in the second set.
20 aces in 2 sets on a "slow" court from Fish. That is 20 out of 84 service points. How many were actually returned in court!

Consider if the court was fast.

It's not slow. It is slower than last year by a noticeable amount, though.
Agreed.

But when somebody like Fish is serving around 10 aces a set on this court it appears that anything faster may generate too many serving contests.
