Ferrer an all-around good guy?

I have to admit Ferrer didn't really register on my radar until this year, specifically at the USO when he defeated Nadal after that 5-set marathon. I couldn't believe his incredible ability to hustle the ball back from anywhere on the court, winners with fantastic angles, and gritty determination. The fact that he's smaller than most top players makes me admire him even more.

He seems like a straight-arrow who just wants do his best and is improving tremendously this year. From what I've read so far, not a bad word has been said about him, either. I'm a total Fed fan, but have also become a Ferrer fan now...so, whoever wins the final is A-OK with me.

If Ferrer wins TMC and becomes a thread to #1 or #2 players of the world, you will hear many bad things about him, especailly in MTF.
oh please:rolleyes: -an all around good guy?

sounds like a disney character ;)
He does seem to be a genuinely good guy with a big heart who's taken the long path to the top and appreciates the moment.

The funny thing is how much credit he receives for supposedly being a hard worker, when he himself would be the first to admit he hates training

His competitiveness and great speed are his gifts, not necessarily things he has obtained by working exceptionally hard, and gradually he's become an excellent ball striker too.
The only thing I know about him is that he smokes :)
No, he's an aggressive baseliner

Aggressive baseliner with great defence and counter puncher abilities.

Yes, he does dislike the training aspect of tennis, but he still puts in the hard yards. Being a hard worker does not necessarily mean enjoying it.

It was a bit of a shame he was too caught up in the moment to play his best today, but he still has experience to gain in big matches.

he does look stoned during his speech

no that is no true, you likely think so by the bashing of Fakevic, he deserver that by his horrible gamesmaship.
He's a good guy but I'm sure he forgets to feed his cat sometimes or is rude to his mother from time to time. No, he is Spanish they adore there mother, so forget the lather.:p

 With cat loving fans like you and me he wouldn't dare do the former either! And to be honest he is a pretty good all-round, nice guy. Writes regularly on his official website, respects his fans, been loyal to the same coach for years, been with the same girlfriend from his home town for years, adores his family :) Pretty good tennis player too :)
That's our Pics...Rafa called him one of the best guys on tour, Nalbandian said he's his best friend on the tour, he's good to his fans, humble, chats with 14 year old fans on his msg board, calls him mom after each match...yup that's Pixie...certified 5 foot 9 sweetie

 Sorry, not everything here is about Federer.

You missed the drama on MTF during the good old days of Hewitt bashing and Roddick bashing. The rivalry between Agassi and Sampras "fans". That was before Federer winning everything.
He does seem like a very likable guy, he never fails to smile during interviews, he seems quite humble and grounded and that's always nice.

One thing that I like about him is that he seems to really appreciate things and his accomplishments and fans. I love that he interacts so much with his fans on his website. Sweetie seems to be the right word.

It's admirable that he is trying to speak English more, even though he struggles with it. He seems like a good guy hasn't moved too far away from his roots and hasn't forgotten where he has come from.
