Fed's Domination On Hard Courts Is A Thing Of The Past

Fed may be done on hard courts. more and more players are figuring out how to play him on hard courts:

1. Canas got him twice last year, back to back in Indian Wells and in Miami.

2. Nalby schooled him in Madrid and in Paris. Fed had been nearly impossible to beat on indoor hard courts prior to that.

3. Murray has derailed him twice now--back to back on fast hatd courts. Fed does prefer fast hard courts.

4. Djokovic conducted a clinic for him in Australia.

5. Tipsy kept him on the court for nearly 5 hours. it could have gone either way.

bottom line: his domination of the hard courts is a thing of the past. now he will gather some points at these 2 hard court masters but he may just walk away empty handed as far as the title is concerned.

the possiblity does exist. should he fail to grab a title at both of these events, it will be conclusive proof that he is no longer the monster he used to be on hard courts. more and more will come forward and show no fear.

thoughts? is he nearly done on hard courts? further, what can he do to recapture his dominance?

Only two things missing to make this complete : Aloimeh and Farenhajt :inlove:

hey tell me about the new avatar. is it the Hindu God of destruction, Shiva?

It's Krishna, he's an avatar (ha!) of Vishnou
the possiblity does exist.
Every possibility exists, always.

It's possible Fed's "domination" may come to an end soon.

It's possible Fed's "domination" may continue.

It's possible he may not make a comeback at all if he does bad this year.

It's possible he may make a comeback even if he does bad this year.

It's possible he may play good tennis and win slams even if his "domination" ends.

It's possible there may be various threads about these possibilities on MTF in the future... Uh.

And so on...

Everything is possible.

will have to brush up on my Hindu mythology. have no idea who Krishna was.

Don't give him ideas:rolleyes:. It's not like he needs encouragement.
yeah right and piggy dominance on dirt is history!!!

ah but nothing that deals specifically with hard courts.

too funny tennizen. tennizen the comedian.
Federer got Mirka's eating habit but it doesn't show yet.

one thing we can safely conclude. he does watch what he eats. Mirka, on the other hand, does not get to watch what she eats. once she is within sight of any kind of food, she can make it disappear pretty damn quickly.

she is now afraid of her own shadow. it is starting to look like a mob.
Federer is still the best HC player when he's in top form - but not head and shoulders above rest.

So yes, "domination" is a thing of the past. But he still controls his own destiny on hardcourts (he wins if he plays near his best, regardless of how other player plays).

I don't think Novak would have taken a set off the Fed that spanked Ferrer at the Tennis Masters Cup last year.
a mono-free Federer would still dominate the hard courts
