After all this Federer will not erase blabla threads.

I say the opposite: In the coming Years Federer will at least win 2 GS per year for the next 4 years. Leaving him with 20 GS. Given his talent and age, I think that is a realistic expectation.

Including two FO and a Grandslam

I'm not one of those guys that turn the back on someone as soon as something doesn't go as planned. I was a die hard Agassi fan when he was No. 140 and I never doubted he wouldn't come back.

20 slams? I for one hope you're right but must admit my expectations for Fed are a little more subdued. Not that that makes him any less of a great player.

And OF COURSE Fed isn't done yet. His GS streak has been quite incredible, it was inevitable that one day he'd lose, and that day was yesterday. He's still at a very solid #1 position and even if he loses it in Dubai, I'm pretty sure he'll get it back again shortly thereafter.
Now if he starts losing at Wimbly during an early round, that would make things different I suppose.

like federer said after he lost, its always expected that he'll win, specially at a slam, so its a shock when he loses. and again. like he said, the semis ain't bad. and if my memory serves me correctly, he's made at least the semis for the last 15 slams, which is pretty decent by anyones standards. he'll be back and he'll win at least 2 of the remaining slams this year

No he wont make it. Competition is too strong, and Djoko has jst proved there's a huge ***** in the armor. The guy is dead in water

No he wont, for the simple reason that, like everybody else, he has weaknesses. If you dictate your game to him, he'll give in, jst as nadal was pumelled into submission. He is not flawless that's utopia. More and more coaches will analyses his next matches and come up with ways to subdue him, jst as the djoko family did brilliantly

I agree that people will more and more analyse how it is best to beat federer and that even from time to time some will manage to do it. But With Federers style of play i doubt that it is really possible to figure him out. Sure he has weaknesses but he can easily adapt if he is playing confidently. even when playing subpar he has all the chance vs. anybody (see Djoko match were he was up 5:3).

Only thing is confidence IMO. if Federer starts to doubt himself and plays passive when in affliction he is in trouble. But I see really no reason to worry. The only match I have seen were Fed was in real truoble so far was vs. Nadal on clay. But else, no. Usually he has match points or at least set points even when loosing.

He will be back!

Nobody won 8/10 slams before. A perfect storm of events happened to prevent 9/11. Whoop-de-doo. He'll regroup and take the last 3 slams of the year to claim GOAT status and the haters will all commit collective suicide on 9/7.

I think you're all getting carried away with the Joker. He's very good but he'll never be a Fed. Fed is not done winning. He was ill at the AO you could tell by how lethargic and ashen he looked.

20 is a bit much. I think Sampras once guessed that Fed would win around 18. I think that sounds right. Fed doesn't put a lot of stress on his body, so I think he'll be injury-free for quite some time.

I always root against him (because he's too dominant), but I think he's already the greatest of the Open era. He's probably the greatest of "all time" as well, but that's almost a futile comparison.

He won't win a true Grand Slam, it's too difficult.
Djokovic and Nadal are too strong.
Yes Indeed, THE LAST PLAYER TO HAVE HELD ALL FOUR TITLES CONSECUTIVELY IN X YEARS ISN'T EVEN MALE..... It's Serena Williams lol. Chances are that no male is gonna win a grand slam in a looong loooong loooong time. The only player I can see winning a grand slam now is Tsonga, and again I dont think it's gonna happen today, maybe in 3 or 4 years if he keep up form, but then, many other youngsters would have caught up with his explosive style of play. That's the wonderful thing about tennis, evolution, change, new blood...
