He says he doesn't know when he will stop playing and retire, the olympic games have been the goal since longtime but won't probably be the end of his career. His children (twins girls) won't go to swiss school but they will have a preceptor. He wants to play the longest time he can, so he will have a lighter calendar.

The longer he stays involved in tennis the better it is for the sport.

We all want to see Federer play forever.

Perhaps he'll face one of his twin boys in a major final.
Maybe he wants to crack Jimmy Connors matches won record. Good luck with that.
his girls won't go to school but with a preceptor? It seems that it is not allowed in my city for kids under 12

it is admirable that he loves the game so much, coz if I were him, I won't play any more since I had already won so much :yeah:

I think he will play until he thinks he has a good shot at big tournaments.
He is # 2 in the world and has a good chance of becoming # 1 again.

Same with Serena who is the same age and still # 1.

Why retire as long as your body is fit??
He loves the game so may play until he's 40

100 career titles and Connors 1,253 wins become definitely reachable - although the lighter schedule will harm him and his ranking potentially.
He'll never get that Olympic single gold... give it up...

There's always another chance at the 2020 Olympics .

I really wonder if that's a serious goal for him. He's taking a run at Connor's time in the top 4 (needs to finish out the year), and at his time in the top 5 and top 10.

All would require something on the order of 3 years of play, (2 including this year).

1250 would require five, and Federer playing until 38. Could he do it?
I have a feeling Federer will be the last of the big 4 to retire
Good for the game.

Fraudgif and other elite Nadtards in ruins.
What are you talking about Nadtards want Fed to play as long as possible, it is the Fedtards who want Nadal to retire ASAP.
Excellent news. There is never too much beautiful tennis in the world.

Nadal will be tired and lose so even if he wins CYGS this year, next year he'll be flat and Fed will run away with 2 slams thus opening the slam gap by another 2. Then will Rafael be the GOAT,BK?

Why not? His game is very conservative and intelligent, and he has every chance of being around for a long time yet. In addition to being the best player of all time, he is also the best manager of his playing schedule. All of this is a recipe for longevity in the game. I don't think Roger feels he needs to put his butt over his head at this point.

While the other 3 are playing legends exhos, Federer's probably gonna be playing on the main tour with the current 12 year olds... It's actually starting to sound likely.
