There is a thread "Federer will not erase pete's record."

Andre won AO four times :worship:
Andre won all four GSs (including French Open :worship:)

It seems that Federer will not erase Andre Agassi's "records" too?
what do you think?

I do think Roger has at least two or three AO and FO in which he can be a serious contender, so I think he will erase at least the FO record.

He doesn't have to - he's created more than enough of his own :)

stephan you don't know much about tennis do you clown, he is a all surface player he's won enough to prove it and he's play two finals at the FO and lost to the best clay courter player of all time, not winning the french dosen't mean he sux on clay dummie.
And winning 12 slams is better then 8 slams geek. Don't forget fed is only 26 he still got a few more good years left in him.

if he can win FO he will just repeat that record...

Roger needs FO so much,
without it he is not real "an all surface player"
It was Fed's misfortune that just about the time he began his run, Rafa arrived.

you don't know much about tennis yourself:
if Andre would start play in AO earlier - he could have more than 12 GSs :)

The only other two with at least 5 wins on all surfaces are Connors and Borg. That's pretty good company.

Being a die hard Agassi fan I would not messure his legency with records that Federer can't touch cause it is highly likely Federer will kill them. At least get 4 AO's and also the FO is likely IMO.

Agassis real strenght IMO is his personality on court. His fighting spirit. And the wins he had after being down to 140 in the world. I think that is something Federer won't match. Coming back when you are really down and staying competitive until 34 Years of age.

As far as I know, Agassi is not the only player to ever win all 4 grand slams, neither is his 4 AO's the most all time, so those don't really qualify as "records".

Also, Federer is a much better clay court play than Agassi ever was. Federer may never win a RG title, but he is by far the more accomplished clay court player. Just ask GWH, and he will tell you of all the easy draws that Agassi had at Roland Garros.

When I saw this thread title, I assumed that you were going to discuss Andre's TMS record. That one's going down.

I think Federer has another three or four years with which to get the French. I say he has a 50% chance of taking one. Federer will win five or more Australian Opens, though.

I think he'll become even more strategic about his schedule and eventually focus only on slams, even at the expense of TMS. The trick is to stay injury free, and fortunately (for him) his game is relatively "low impact."

I agree Federer is the better clay court player despite the lack of clay titles- Agassi was a very good player on clay but his draw in 1999 was not the most taxing as it opened up, although he was down to face Guga at one point.

Medvedev was a clay TMS winner, though, people forget that when they look at what his ranking was when they met.
