Question: What do you think the final tallies will be when both players are retired? Obviously Federer has four extra seasons on Nadal, and his (Federer's) percentage did drop a few points last year. I would think Nadal can probably maintain the higher percentage if he retires by age 30/31, but after that the new champions (Thiem? Dimitrov? Nishikori?) may begin to score a lot of wins against him.

Nadull's percent will only fall at this point of his career. Federer will lead this stat depending on if Nadull cowardly retires sooner rather than later.

Nice stats but does that mean its better to lose in the early round of a Slam against a nobody than very deep in the tournament against a Slam Champion?

NID Nadal leads this by a mile. He's a better player than Federer. Federer no doubt has a brilliant percentage against weak era slamless mugs from 03-07 though

Thank God Davydenko never won a GS. We would never hear the end of it.

Rafa´s % will dip, but so will Federers.

Why fedtards so bitter .. Its not like nadal is a 22/23 yo rising star.. He is turning 28 in less than a month... So still quite good %.

Take out their records against each other and their percentages are essentially equal.
This. The Fedal H2H makes any comparison ridiculous. Without this H2H Fed is surely the superior player, given his age and the fact his average has been dropping and that of Rafa is not yet, and that in contrast to Fed Rafa actually loses to none grand slam champions.

Of course you shouldn't do this comparison at all, as their solo H2H is very important. But that's not the thing that the OP suggests.

Nadal already told that he planned to play only for another 4 years.

When his body is done, he's done. :haha:

Take out Clay, take out the H2H, take out his best surface....:stupid:

How about we include it all....:wavey:

NO, it is the overall career that counts. The only stats that matter here are: 23-10, 6-2 in slam finals, 7 or 8-2 in slams, overall.
9-2 in slams actually.

Not bad. 32 is a good age to retire from tennis. Dont know why some clowns want to play until 35..when they arent even winning shit.

Nadal is truly the last of long tradition of early bloomer All-time Great..Amazing that he got to play these guys who are 12-15 years older than him ...They are not even of Federer's generation..

Would you prefer to watch safin, roddick, nalbandian, hewitt, ljubicic, ancic, rusedski, rafter, Agassi, Blake, robredo, coria, gaudio, davydenko, Moya, costa, verdasco, falla, benneteau, haas, Blake, stakhovsky, andreev, melzer, etc. lose 5-25 times against Djoker in the weak 2002-2006 era too? It'd be increasingly ugly.

Fed struggled and lost to some of these players on his fave surfaces.
He is losing to Djoker more than 40 times in the next 5 years.
Fed is an insulting, verbally abusive clown when he isn't GOAT.
Even Arthur Ashe, rosewall, pancho Gonzales, Connors, nastase, edberg, Tilden, laver, etc. had longevity and a quick net game

Injured Djoker beat fed in a slam
Injured Djoker beat clay courters back to back 6-0 6-1.
Injured djoker saved 2 match points vs. fed in a slam. He saved 2 match points in a choking effort in the '10 us open too.
Peak fed got lucky with numerous set point chokes and a 4-2 lead from djoker in 2007 us open final.
Fed called that a brutal loss that he got lucky in.

Fed never beat any good clay players back to back 6-0 6-1, let alone on hardcourt & grass.

Nadal saved 2 match points vs. fed at their primes.
Fed never saved match points nor came back to win from 2 sets down against top 10 players.
Hewitt and tsonga came back from 2 sets down; hewitt was down a break in the third set also in 2003 Davis cup and beat federer.
Nadal and Djoker don't give mercy to so-called ambitious players that they threw away matches too.
Weak era clowns davydenko and Roddick were demolished by nadal and djoker on their fave surfaces - indoor hardcourt & grass.
Roddick kept changing his mind about what his fave surface was. Outdoor hardcourt or grass. Because he was humiliated by djoker and nadal when they were playing us open, masters cup & Olympics, even at not their best.
Fed lost to 34 year old haas, 29 year old hewitt and clay-absentee Roddick. Turkey and pigeons were not playing their best, but fed fanatics gave excuses like fed isn't caring about wins. Fed said he'd play 5 more years....idiot fanboys.
