Is this what fed fans want? Assuming that rafa bombs out before the semis that is and essentially leaving federer a real chance to the final. If he lands in nole's half he is DEFINETELY going to have to go through nole to get to the finals...

Tomorrow draw ideally would give fed a draw like no gulbis and dimitrov, no birdshit, and ideally ferrer while in rafa's half who would get gulbis/dimitrov and wawarinka in qf...

Should the sisters of fate roll the dice with fed in rafa's half.. or is that too dangerous given the tremendous upside?

Hm that is a dangerous plan. I wonder what Toni is thinking. This is a tough calculation actually.

He can beat Djokovic in straight sets on grass who will be clueless on returning those slices

I doubt Federer is very scared of having to face Djokovic on grass either. Murray is the one he really fears, along with Stakh, GOATbis and Berdych.

I don't think the draw matters for the potential semi-final matchup.
Say, Federer is likely to be more worried about drawing Berdych in QF and Nadal about drawing grass specialists in the first few rounds.

Nadal should be worried about his early round opponents' form, not whether he draws Murray or Federer.

Roger would be a lot better off with Rafa in his half because he wont have to face Rafa due to Rafa going out early and let Novak-Murray eliminate each other.

Barring an easy draw, both will struggle in early rounds.

Yep, much better for him. Given that Nadal in SF = Nadal wins the whole thing, when it comes to title chances we're better considering only the case of an early loss for Rafa, whether it be for Roger or any other. so obviously in that perspective Nadal's half is much preferable. Add Berdych in the other half too and you get a perfect draw for #18... Not that it will necessarily be enough though!

If Fed is GOAT, shouldn't Fed fans NOT care who he draws? I know that personally as a GOATdal fan, I don't care who he draws wether it's Federer, Djokovic, Murray or whoever, I say bring them on!!!

No matter what you think of Federer, GOAT or not, you have to be realistic with his current abilities rather than basing his prospects on his past achievements, he's at a different stage of his career.

No one is that delusional, and the main question for Rafa is, is he going to even make it that far?

I do not think Rafa or Roger want to play each other again on grass . IMO something happened after this match and they have never played on grass.Fed said recently that he was not happy they made them play in darkness without hawk eye and "they" said him it is good for the game that someone else won it.Lol IMO Federer is mad when Rafa winning FO every year even got and great draw.

Hmm, that's a good question. If Nadal is in the semis, Federer certainly fears him more- I'm sure Fed would love to meet him on day one of the event, but by the semis the court will favor Nadal much more. However, there is a decent chance Nadal will lose early. Djokovic, on the other hand, is less intimidating on the surface but much more likely to make the semis. All in all, given that he beat Djokovic in 2012 when he was playing much better than he is now, I still think he'd choose him

Well said.

I say let them make it to the semis before worrying about a match between them if it's drawn.

Nadal is 2-3 in Wimbledon finals and one of those wins was over Berdych  The other went 5 sets.

So I wouldn't say a semi is a guaranteed win for Nadal.

Wow. Good job.

A Rafa fan who actually can think straight and is not a delusional fanboy.

Refreshing to see. Color me impressed. Given you added reputation

Fed vs Nadal in the SF on Centre Court might be the only remaining intriguing matchup in this rivalry. I think Rafa pretty much owns him anywhere else these days. Still, if that were to occur, I'd take Rafa in 4 or 5.

However, if Nadal does get bounced early, it would definitely clear the way for Fed. And Djokovic/Murray will likely be a war of attrition in the other SF so I can definitely see how this scenario would benefit Fed.

The obvious question is if Fed will make it to the SF or not. If he runs into an in-form ballbasher during R2 or R3, he could very easily see his last decent chance at SW19 slip away.
