Federer: "I wish the court could be faster - that's how it's supposed to be indoors -

Yeah, it's rigged, in favour of the pig(rafa), who (again) thanks to the slow court and **ridiculous*** draw will get to the final by beating clowns.

Anyone fancy a sour grape?

I thought he wanted the court changed?

Take your defeat like a man Federer. You're becoming as bad as Ljubicic at accepting a loss.

i think federer wants a faster hardcourt. But really this is silly from roger.

this court is no doubt indoor blue clay though

What to believe anymore? did him and Rafa give diva demands to have this court suited to thier needs or not?

seems weird he'd have that and then still be unhappy about the court.

then again he's always hated the courts here, he was in a right strop after he lost to Henman in 2003.

i hate that they are slowing surfaces down but its not anything we havnt known for the last few years

Rafa will be happy coz usually its him moaning about courts being to fast for him  but i'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say the surface wasnt changed because they both 'demanded' it.

Have I missed something? Nadal isn't in the final yet ;)

There's really no need for such a thread to find excuses for Rogers loss.
David had always been a tough opponent for him, no matter on which court. He has a great run right now and we have to accept that he was the better player today.

The interview I listened to he gave full credit to Nalbandian and just slipped in his issue about the court.

Not unlike something Nadal would do I might add. :p

Re: Federer:

I thought Fed didn't like the old surface because of the movement, not because of the speed. Nadal's the one that didn't like how it reacted to his shots thus wanting a change.
According to that GrandChelem source, both wanted a change.

Quite a few players were asked about their wishes for the surface and Nadal and Federer were asked what needed to be done to get them to play in Bercy and the article indicates that they both wanted a change.

Not too sure whether this GrandChelem gives a fair account about what really went on, though.

Just saying the court could be faster as it is supposed to be indoors... well, he isn't too far from the truth and I would support this statement. And I am against this "let's even more narrow the gap between slowest and fastest surface"-trend anyway. The average claycourt should be very slow and the average grasscourt or carpet should be sizzling fast.

I knew that they both complained but I thought that Fed only complained about the surface not being great for movement. I don't remember him complaining about the speed or anything.
