Berrer won just 11 points in first set but then started playing much better especially on serve and volley.
Federer didnt look much troubled despite the lost set

good to see Berrer with a good showing against a big calibre like Federer.

Well done Roger! :)

But I hope Berrer gets all the credit he deserves for this performance. Something he can tell his grandchildren about. ;) And I really hope he can establish himself in the Top 100.

Please win your home tournament Roger!

What little I saw of the 3rd set, it seemed as though Fed just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. He was hurrying up while executing his shots and in-between points. He gets a day's rest so I guess he will be ok for the next round.

He insisted to play today to get a day off tomorrow.

All credit to Berrer for finding his way into the match after a nervous performance in the first set. He had over 80% on 1st serve in the second set whilst Roger seemed to be anywhere but not on the court until being down 0:4.
Too many UEs from Roger and he clearly wasn't convinced with his performance today.

^I'd think, he didn't do that in US Open and Madrid and look what happened. He notably won the former, but didn't play very well in the Semis and final, and lost the latter but still played well. But still.

I hope this means we're back to the usual trend of Roger sucking in early matches just to get improved with time. If he gets Del Potro tomorrow he will need to be on high alert.
I don't see DelPo giving Roger trouble. Even if he were capable talent-wise, he still has that problem with his nerves.

I didn't watch this match - I'm suprised Rog lost a set. Did he look "off"?

At times he looked as if he were playing in Australia - i.e. went walkabout!

That tells me he plans to play Paris as well. I certainly hope that he will.
Overall, good first and third set by Roger, so-so performance in the second, but he managed to hit a few wonder shots again from which one was simply amazing, squash shot out of position down the line. Highlights will be good, Berrer had a few nice shots as well.

Wow Fat dave has really knocked Rogers confidence BAD!

This should have been 62 62 at worst.
