Its arguable he was in better form at the aussie 2012 open when he finished that steamrolling end of 2011.

But iss he in the best form since 2012 or does anyone feel his game was better at dubai 2014, shanhai 2014?

Regardless, I feel his game with all the adjustements in tactics, racket, coaches, 1 year into it with davis cup and 1000 wins he's in dangerous form going into australia. This may be more opportunistic given murray and nadal form and djoker while being great not exactly as menacing as he was in 2011-2013.

Feds got one good 5 setter in him and I hope he saves it for the final against djokovic. It may be like gohan going against cell... but there is something deep in federer that if he awakens...(jesus fed) can take it home.

AO 2010 was Fed' 16th GS title. He had two girls 7 months old ,many titles, many weeks at #1 and that made him less hungry, motivated . AO 2010 was his 5th GS in a row/ as he was in F of every GS in 2009/. In 2008 he played in three GS' finals. It is a lot of pressure and a lot of playing.Maybe he decided to take it easy but he still was in the top four.IMO when he lost in 2rd at Wimbeldon2013 and his back gave him troubles he decided to make some changes/his racquet/ and it was as a wake up call.

Yeah he'll win a slam this year with average luck and no injuries.

His form is comparable with 2012, certainly better than 2013, and slightly better than 2014 I think.

It's a bit early to tell at the moment, but I'd have him just under 2012 form. That said, ask me again after the AO and it might be a different answer.

We can't judge that quickly, it was only one small tournament. In which he played one poor match, two excellent ones, and one decent one. We'll need to see how he does in the tournaments that are far more important, like AO, and few other masters.

lots of guys can hurt fed now. djokovic, nadal, murray, nishikori, raonic, wawrinka are all guys that could beat federer at the aussie open, which is the 2nd slowest grand slam on the tour.

fed looks good with pace beneath his feet. thats why fed is the best indoor player, but when the surface slows somewhat, he is beatable.

thats why djokovic is a big favourite for the aussie open.

RaoDicK can't beat Roger in slams barring an off day in RG. But yeah, nobody is questioning Novak's status as favourite.

Too early to tell. Playing well. Wrapped up one record in January, and just needs to rack up about 3.5k points on the year to keep another record going. That's about 300 points a month.

Fed likely taking off after austalia till indian wells. He was saying his off season was only 8 days after davis cup as he started practicing and training then did iptl and the wawa exho.. I hope he has enough left to go deep in australia... he looked like he was limping a bit in that hewitt match.. Im sure he'll be fine 8 days later of just taking it easy..

He needs 4 fairly straight forward matches.... ranoic quarter so that won't expend energy... and a semis vs wawa or anyone besides nadal... he has enough for one 5 setter... i hope its saved for the final otherwise he cant recover if it happens in quarters or semis... unless he gets the 2 days off before the finals draw... which he will need regardless to really make it a match especially if he goes again nole..

anything less than a semis... will be a massive dissapointe... i know nadal is crap form now.. but i dont want him in the same half regardless as fed would still lose.
