Nobody blamed him because he lost. It's the manner how he lost, especially people who watched him play criticize him (me/ you can read on tennisatlantic how dire he was)

It's not his first time on grass though (even though this was his first time in the main draw). He's played 3 matches on it as a pro, 6 matches as a junior (reaching QF of Wimbledon Juniors in 2013).

His 3 pro matches have been:

Loss in Wimbledon Q1 2014, 6-7 1-6 to Pierre Hugues-Herbert
Loss in Queens Q1 2014, 3-6 6-7 to James McGee
Loss in Stuttgart R32 2015, 2-6 0-6 to Victor Troicki

LOL Everyone knows pushers can't win on grass, he should stick to dirt and slow hard.
