Reliable match from Gasquet. Just what exactly you need to beat current Almagro.
Backhand on fire. Also some good work in defense.
Nico blew break advantage, while serving for second set.
Match vs. GGL sounds tasty.

Good win against Almagro: 6-1 7-6. Richard saved four bps in the first game and showed from the start that he would not disappaer without a fight. Very good first set, in which he showed his variety: 4 volley winners, 3 drop shot winners, the official winner stats were wrong by the way. A lapse of concentration at the start of the second set, but Almagro showed nerves when he served for the set and allowed Richard back in the match. A rather convicning breaker from Richard, a BH winner and an ace sufficed. Congrats, Richard, well done. :D

Before the tournament the only match in which I was sure - against Matosevic. But now Richie is already in sf with decent chance to go all the way. :yeah: For me GGL will be slight favourite tomorrow, but Lionheart has his chances.

They are just better than him at this stage, Nadal is the only one against whom I see in Richie`s eyes that he can`t do it. Even against Fed at DC last year he was fighting all the day saving many bps etc. Gasquet has big heart. :)

Almagro is so damn bad, he really looks like he might be done. I mean, Jesus, Gasquet is good but has been out forever and this is clay where Mugro winning would once have been a given.

Didn't know that you care about Spaniards beside Ferrer.
I mean except GGL and RBA who play at least an exciting game, all other Spanish players seem to be done at this stage.

How can Gasquet on clay against Almagro be a given at anytime?
