sure, Verdasco will get a WC!
I have a question. Is this the fixed alternate list? Or does the alternate list get updated 3 or 4 weeks before the tournament? Because already the rankings are different. Right now I believe Ginepri, Blake, then Verdasco are next in line in case of withdrawals..

But maybe they stick with the original alternates list?

[Due to a bug-- http://www.menstennisforums.com/showpost.php?p=2301092&postcount=7 --I was unable to edit my post from earlier today that included the full entry list & alternates (nor was I able to include a quote from the first post "Any other information is welcome!") so I deleted it & am replicating it here.]

Not available yet.

One of the Q spots will go to Oscar Burrieza (as winner of a minor tourney whose prize was that)

No.

Yes.

Direct entry list (& alternates): 9/5/05 entry rankings
Qualifying entry list: 9/26/05 entry rankings
Seeding (main draw & qualifying): 10/10/05 entry rankings
Thanks Smucav. So Verdasco would need a wildcard, and unless there are a lot of withdrawals, Blake & Ginepri would have to play qualifying.

Bingo. It's pretty depressing though - it seems stupid to use a week (9/5) when new rankings didn't even come out as the basis of deciding who made the cutoff and who didn't. As the last GS of the year, it would have made a lot more sense to wait until after the USO for the rankings of 9/12 to come out. All 3 of them would have been directly into Madrid then.

In 2004, there were eleven zero pointers in Madrid. While there may not be as many this year, several alternates will probably be admitted to the main draw.
massu ask for q Wild Card....!
massu was finalist in 2003, so i think that is too posible
seems it's gonna be great tourny
Nadal talking about Madrid masters series “ At the end of the last two seasons i arrived very tired and off form and it seems it can happen again this year “

I´d be surprised if Nadal goes deep in the draw, honestly

For qualies, it's possible. But I wouldn't give it (he defeated El Aynaoui in SF. That was the last match I've seen of Younes, and after that he wasn't the same player)

In Marca last year, I used all ways to give more votes to Alex Corretja. Who are the options this year??
