yes, I m just reading there would be just a captain. however, I don't see any article that confirm the news.

just this one (in spanish) talking about Vicario would be a candidate.

Spain's Davis Cup captains expecting to get the chop
2005-09-28 10:07:44 GMT (Reuters)

MADRID, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Spain's Davis Cup captains Jordi Arrese and Juan Avendano are expecting to be dropped by the Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) despite the victory over Italy last weekend that kept them in the World Group.

The two men, who took Spain to victory in the final of the Davis Cup in 2004, believe that advisors close to federation president Pedro Munoz have persuaded him to backtrack on his decision to renew their contracts.

"Munoz told us he would be extending our contract for another two years, but he then said that his vice-presidents did not want us in the job," Arrese was quoted as saying in sports daily Marca on Wednesday.

"I never trusted him because he always opposed our decisions when (his predecessor as president) Agusti Pujol was in charge."

Marca reported that former player Emilio Sanchez Vicario, the elder brother of Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, was the favourite to take over the captaincy.

"I'm flattered to hear my name connected with the captaincy of the Davis Cup and of course I like the idea," said Sanchez Vicario. "But as yet I have not received any offer."

I wonder how is he gonna be presented this afternoon when in theory he was in China ??
It's not done yet, but it's a question of time... I guess in a couple of days G2 will be done, not that is a bad or good thing
Eurosport announced at 6 PM there was new captain ( Emilio ) and he will be presented this afternoon and now says within 15-20 days there will be new captain :retard:

Eurosport sucks.

Can anyone move this thread to España-Italy thread ??
great decision
g2 and g3 suck!!!!

one only coach is the best
yes Muñoz has announced that he will say the name in 15-20 days
he wants to speak with every player and coachs, but also has admitted that Emilio SV is his candidate!
other candidates are: Albert Costa , Francis Roig, "Dudu" Duarte & Jordi Arrese but alone, but Arrese has few options cos his relationship with Muñoz isn't the best ....
