One meeting between them, 2009 in Australia, where Simon could defeat Guccione 6-7(5) 6-4 6-1 6-2.

Simon without match practice on grass so far, last year he had couple of problems on grass at his first perfomance against the young british prospect Edmund who pushed Simon to two tiebreaks - 7-6 7-6 for the french men in the end.

Gooch on the other side played three matches in Qualies against Clayton, Przysiezny and Cox + four doubles matches in Nottingham last week where he won the tournament partnering Rajeev Ram.

Goochs serving stats in all three quali matches:
Service Games played: 37
1st Serve Pts won: 123/139
2nd Serve Pts won: 43/68
Break points saved: 0/1
Double Faults: 1
Aces: 47

GOOCH is on a mission here.

Predict: Gooch 7-6 7-6

Re: Eastbourne R1: (6) Gilles Simon vs (Q) Chris "Gooch on a mission" Guccione

To difficult draw for Guccione, don´t believe he can beat Simon, Simon should dominate rallies. Simon in straight sets
