Dubai SF: [2] Federer def. Coric 6:2, 6:2

Reminded me a bit of their 15 encounter here. Federer very consistent. Coric with the occasional money shot especially from the backhand side, but not on a regular basis and some very strange errors in the mix. Federer was good but not outstanding. At least he didn’t face a bp today. Serving was awesome

Re: Fed def Coric 6-2 6-2

Unlike the first three victories, this one was immensely satisfying.
That was god-mode Federer in the 1st set with an absolutely stunning array of shot making, and then he closed the match like a rock star. Doing this at his age? Unbelievable. We fed fans are truly blessed.

This was reminiscent of the Federer/Medvedev from Basel.

One player completely absent, and people fawn over some mythical Federer player because he for once keeps the ball in play and once a game hits a winner.

The story here was Coric's awfulness.

As the match progressed, Fed feeling safe was able to play more confidently.

Very good match from Roger. Coric couldn't perform his best because of visibly tiredness, had problems with bending his knees.

Stars are aligned for Fed in this tournament, he will play dead tired Stefanos in the final. Anyway, I wish this will be a better match than vs Coric.

Coric was definitely not the toughest opponent but Federer played much better today, takes me back to his late 2017-early 2018 levels. He can definitely win his 100th if he plays like this tomorrow.

Oh wow. Tsitsipas better watch out. We're seeing Fed in his 2017-esque form. Hopefully that's a good final. As far as Fed, I'm thinking his chances of taking IW are higher than I thought. Djokovic/Fed final(if they're on opposite sides) could be very possible.

As his opponent, this match is sort of indication that Coric has regressed from his 2018 form. Starting to wonder if Coric will be a very inconsistent player throughout his career where he'll have some great seasons and some mediocre seasons alternating year after year.

Federer winning a match in straight sets and without getting broken. That’s a rarity nowadays so we should cherish this win. A very solid performance from Federer after three below par performances. Coric was rubbish but Federer was solid. I am just glad that Federer played a good match for once and didn’t lose three in a row to Coric. Can you imagine if that happened lol? Hopefully #100 tomorrow, so we can put this whole talk about 100 titles behind us.

Coric looked exhausted so not too difficult for Roger who played his best this week. Think Tsitsi will be much more difficult.

We as Fed fans, seeing haters like you diminish his greatness at 38yo after matches like this, can't feel more than joy and be fortunate to enjoy what are the last glimpses of brillancy of the best player who has ever stepped on a tennis court.
Those touches of genius, those magnificent dropshots, the halfvolleys basically all over the court, the majestic volleys from the net, these are all a feast for all Fed fans.
We are witnessing history, relax lad and join us. :wink2:

Player with better distribution of strenght throughout the tournament won.
Of course Coric was tired. But come on: he is 22, Federer 37.
And Federer was returning better in this one than in previous rounds.
Also:
2015, Dubai - RF/BC 6:2, 6:1 Federer 33 years old
2019, Dubai - RF/BC 6:2, 6:2 Federer 37 years old - haha

It's always the same story with your "opinions":

- whenever Fed wins: the opponent was playing like shit, absent, not even TOP100, abysmal, etc
- whenever Nadal wins: he's a god in a human body who can't put a foot wrong*

*but only until he meets a Djokovic in an Aussie Open final

Does saying Coric was tired say more about Fed or about Coric? How are you tired playing 4 Bo3 matches at an ATP 500? How does someone like Coric ever expect a deep slam run or a slam title if he's getting tired after a few Bo3s?
