Not great, but utilitarian stuff from Federer. Served a lot better than yesterday, he is still finding his range, hopefully will replicate what happened in Rotterdam as we reach the business end of the tournament
Lopez served great for the best part, but made some crucial errors in those two games he was broken.

Overall, it was an entertaining match, always good to see some old school tennis :)

For Roger, QF against Youzhny next. Good Luck Rog :yeah:

Yet another win. Vs Youzhny. This is turning into an excellent draw for Federer.

First point rally at 5-3 in the second was fantastic. Federer's squash return of the lob shot 5-10 meters behind the baseline with his back to the net was another amazing shot. Federer first serve pct. was 70%, a bit of an improvement from his last match. ;) That was the key, as Lopez could never get a window of opportunity to break, putting a lot of pressure on his own serve. Lopez did well just to hang in there for as long as he did.

Some nice rallies.

Who's gonna man up and make this into a meme?
Feli :rolls:

Great matches for Roger this week, gotta love when you get these match-ups, attacking tennis, serve and volley players, OHBHs

Sad part is that all these guys are over 30. Llodra, Fed, Mahut, Feli, Youzhny, Fish.

But how is that for a great quarter?

Fish, Beck, Youzhny, Gasquet, Mahut, Lopez, Llodra, Fed.

I believe that Beck is the slowest player in the quarter and even he has had success on Grass.

The entire half top it off with Del Potro and Tsonga. Great job Dubai!

Too bad Lopez couldn't make those two volleys at 5-3.

Time for Lopez to follow the career he was truly meant for, the man should become a gigolo. He should leave tennis behind.
He's at a career high right now and will probably qualify for Olympics, why stop now?

Amazing point. Thanks for the video post.

Mr. Lopez might have volleyed one or two out balls toward the end, but still...
