Very tight match in the first two sets. Unfortunately, after his comeback in the 2nd set (and a great tie-break), Hubert didn't use his momentum in the 3rd set. Still a great week for him.

Good win for Stef though I worry he might get a bit tired playing fifth (?) consecutive week.

Great week for Hubert too, Hopefully he'll keep progressing and developing steadily and that was not just a one-off.

Stefanos being one win away from the top 10 is such a fraud

This all-NextGen matchup delivered the goods in terms of quality and excitement :cheerleader:

Tsitsipas won as expected, but Hurkacz did himself proud playing in his first (but surely not last) ATP QF. Broke back to avoid losing in straights and then played a brilliant TB, just couldn't sustain the momentum in the decider against a determined opponent.

Stefanos being one win away from the top 10 is such a fraud
Dude, how?

On his ranking in the last 52 weeks:

Marseille 250 W
AO GS SF
Stockholm 250 W
Toronto Masters 1000 F
Washington 500 SF
Barcelona 500 F
Wimbledon 4R

This guy was still qualifying for Masters last year and was unseeded at GS. Can he get some respect put on his name instead of saltiness?

Tsitsipas is Djokovic like in his way to mess up opponents rhythm. Why was he allowed to change shoes at 15-30 in the third set.

What "fraud"? If you're saying his ranking is inflated, that's nonsense to be honest. I mean, how so is it a fraud? He has put together good results, stringing W's, thus earning points.

Moreover, you think Cilic warrants a spot with the way he has been playing? Or Isner is a solid top 10 player... Even Thiem (clay specialist if there ever was one)...

He makes this in allmost every tight match I've seen.
He has two pairs of handy shoes for every match - just in case the things get tight. ;-)

He also likes to forget to change his racket when there are new balls. Then he suddenly realizes it and walks back to his chair when his opponent is already standing at the baseline, ready to serve. Seen him do this a lot. Maybe he's just dumb but I prefer to think that he's evil.

Hurkacz is looking very good right now. I was impressed with his backhand and defensive. Tsitsipas hit a number of great forehands and persistently attacked the net.

Monfils will be a tough opponent. The entertainer loves to play against ballerinas like Tsitsipas and Dimitrov.

Disapppointed to see Hurkacz fade away in the 3rd when it looked like he had all the momentum. Also Tsitsi should have been the more tired. Fed will win this so long as he avoids the Greek future No 1.

I'm so happy to witness a new Polish player who can play so well vs. top guys.
Two first sets were very enjoyable to watch, in the third Hubert couldn't sustain his level and Stefanos made some miracle shots. There are still many things to improve, but Hubert's getting better and better with a bigger experience.

Well, he has a row of insanely easy draws...

I have Hubert in my signature for a longer time, not since this match. Mostly because he's my compatriot. ; )
