I'd argue that back in the so-called golden era of tennis in the 90's, where noone knew how to return serve and with more tournaments played on ultra-fast surfaces, Dr.Ivo would have been a top 5 player.

Yeah Ivo would have loved the early-mid 1990s >> especially the indoor season!
I doubt he would have been Top-5, but Top-10 would be very realistic..

Dr.Ivo probably would have won himself a few AMS titles, or Super-9 as they were known.
For instance Karlovic won Stockholm this year, in the early 90s that was a Super-9 event.

Also if he had managed to qualify for the old incarnation(s) of TMC~~ such as the ATP World Championships [8 man] & Grand Slam Cup [16 man], both played in Germany, then he might have taken a couple of titles away from the likes of Sampras, Becker & Ivanisavic..

He certainly would of had more success that he does these days... In fact, top 5 could be realistic.

he'd probably be in the Top 5 considering that tennis in the 90s was all about serve. Golden Era??? Yeah right! Back then I was actually watching WTA cause mens tennis was so boring and one dimensional...serve, volley, serve, volley, verve, volley, serve, volley Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I agree. Calling it "the golden era" was tongue-in-cheek on my part.
